BDC Chairman Langate welcomes extension of Amnesty scheme of electricity consumer

BDC Chairman Langate Showkat H Pandith has welcomed the decision taken by the Jammu and Kashmir Government in extending the benefits of Amnesty scheme for PDD defaulters which has given a big respite to thousands of people who had got inflated electricity bills.


BDC Chairman Langate in a press release said that the huge amount of arrears on amount of unpaid electricity bills were mainly containing the component of the penalty and interest.

In a statement issued , the Amnesty scheme which was given by the government earlier could not be availed by thousands of people in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory because of the Covid. The decision taken by the government now of extending the benefits and creating the provision for payment by installments is a welcome step. Pandith also noted with gratitude the decision taken by LG Administration .

CGM NABARD Visit to District Kupwara Shakir Bhat Kupwara Chief General manger(CGM) NABARD Shri. Dr. A K Sood visited the District Kupwara on 21st September 2022 for inauguration and interaction with the Bangus Dairy Farmers Producer Organization Promoted by NABARD and HELP Foundation in district Kupwara. The CGM was accompanied by DGM NABARD Shri Surinder Singh and DDM NABARD Shri Zubair Ashraf Wasil. Debris on Khekji Satkoji-Zachaldara road to be cleared soon.ADC Handwara  On the public representation regarding the debris on Khekji Satkoji- Zachaldara road, the ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir today convened a meeting of concerned officers to resolve the issue.  DFO Langate, XEN PMGSY Handwara, Tehsildar Zachaldara, Representative from DMO Office Kupwara and other concerned attended the meeting.  The meeting held threadbare discussion regarding the accumulation of the debris on Khekhji Zachaldar road. The Executive Engineer PMGSY was directed to clear the debris from the spot within a week’s time, besides, he shall take necessary action for raising a protection wall to stop further land sliding on the spot.  The concerned DFO and Mining Department was directed to issue necessary NOCs to the PMGSY Handwara for clearing the debris.
