Police Station Handwara arrests three peddlers, narcotics recovered

Continuing its efforts against drug peddling, Handwara Police arrested three peddlers and recovered narcotics in Handwara area. 

Today a police party of Police Station Handwara, while on naka duty  at Kachwari  Handwara, apprehended three persons who had attempted to evade the police party in a suspicious manner. 

On search, around 29 grams of Heroin like substance was recovered from their possession. The persons have been identified as  Javid Ahmad Sofi S/o Ab Razak, R/o Khunbal Handwara,Gh Ahmad Mir S/o Ab Khaliq R/o Chanjmulla Zachaldara & Haroon Ahmad Reshi S/o Gh Mohi Din R/o Warpora Zachaldara

In relation to this, FIRNo. 266/2022 U/s 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Handwara and investigation has been initiated.

Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan commences at SDH Kupwara Shakir bhat Kupwara, 17 Sep:  Month long Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Commenced in SDH Kupwara today with multifarious activities and awareness campaigns held on day one throughout the district. Two LeT militants held in Sopore along with arms and ammunition: police Police on Wednesday said that they have arrested two LeT militants along with arms and ammunition in Sopore area of north kashmir's Baramulla district. Police in a statement said that, on 21st September, on the basis of a reliable information  about the presence of militants belonging to prescribed militants organization LeT at the village Botingoo a joint CASO was launched by Sopore Police alongwith 22 RR, 179 BN CRPF, Det Marcos and the area was cordoned-off and subsequently search was started.
